Watch The Throne | Pastor Dre
Sermon Recap
With the current events and happenings in the world, there is a great call for prophetic preaching, but prophetic preaching doesn't mean that I tell you good things—prophetic preaching also afflicts the comfortable and comforts the afflicted. It means we must speak to what’s going on today and address the issues at hand.
Take a look at Isaiah 6:1:
“In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.”
The year in which all this occurred was the year of Uzziah’s death. It was in this year that Israel as a people was given up to hardness of heart, and as a kingdom and country to devastation and annihilation by the imperial power of the world. The national glory of Israel died out with king Uzziah and has never revived to this day.
King Uzziah led Israel in military victories over the Philistines and other neighboring countries. Uzziah was a strong king, an energetic builder, planner, and general. Teachers Commentary says, “In Judah, it was the year King Uzziah died. For Isaiah, it was the year he saw the Lord.”
ISN'T IT A TRIP HOW TWO OF US CAN GO THROUGH THE SAME THING, BUT IT HITS YOU ONE WAY AND HITS ME ANOTHER?
Please Understand: Uzziah dies—Isaiah Sees At The Lord. Judah Is Tripping because King Uzziah of Judah had a long and distinguished reign. Uzziah died and everybody was sad, but Isaiah said, “I saw the Lord.”
WHAT IN YOUR LIFE HAS TO DIE FOR YOU TO SEE GOD?
I wish I had five people that would praise God for moving some stuff. God hooked you up without your permission, and God will move people from you because you can't move from people.
WHAT IN YOUR LIFE HAS TO DIE?
The land of Judah mourns Uzziah because he started as a good godly King. Towards the end of his life, however, he took his eyes off of Jehovah and God struck Uzziah With Leprosy, causing him to be an isolated leper until death.
Therefore, to say, “in the year King Uzziah died,” is to say a lot! It is to say, "In the year a great and wise king died," but also, "in the year a great and wise king who had a TRAGIC end died."
UZZIAH HAD A GOOD START & BAD FINISH
Conversely, many of us had a bad start but we’re going to have a good finish. I thought this was The Movement, Is there anybody that get’s that? I’m gonna finish better than I started!
You may have been born into a bad family and lived a life of sex, drugs, and rock & roll, but let me tell you this: your history does not determine your destiny!
ISAIAH SHOWS US GOD’S POSITION
Look again at Isaiah 6:1:
"In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple."
The Lord was sitting on the throne! God was still enthroned in heaven in charge of all creation. The bottom line of atheism and materialism is that they believe there is no throne; there is no seat of authority or power all the universe must answer to. Meanwhile, humanism states that there is a throne, but man sits upon it. The Bible, however, makes it clear that there is a throne in heaven and no fallen man sits on the throne, but the Lord God is enthroned in Heaven.
Anyone might sit on a chair, but sovereign kings sit on thrones. The Lord was lofty and exalted, which tells us that whatever we’re going through, He is above our circumstances.
You better stop staying up all night, pacing the floor. Whatever you’re going through (and you’re going through something), God is above it! He may not fix it, but He is above it! God in Heaven now shows Isaiah, "Don't worry about it, Isaiah. Uzziah may not be on his throne, but I am.”
